So what's the deal with that big swooshy thing? It's my
name rendered in Persian calligraphy. I did it myself. I like it cause
it looks a little bit like a dancer. I've checked it out with some of
my Iranian friends and they usually recognize it when I tell them it is
Persian... It is read from the top right to the bottom left. The medium
sized blob at the beginning represents and "m" sound, the line
and the big blob next to it represent the "sh" sound, the horizontal
line with the arced line going up and a little to the left represents
the "k" sound, the small rightward pointing dip with the short
vertical line next to it represents the "i" sound (pronounced
"ee"), and the big loop at the bottom with the dot represents
the "n" sound. Hope you found that interesting.
