Justice's Homeschooling Journal

I have been homeschooling Justice since he was 14 months old. It was then that we first tried to teach him how to read. These early years have been mostly experimentation. I've been learning a lot about what resources are available, how I like to teach, and how Justice likes to learn. We have tried many different methods. It seems that almost weekly I would be making new teaching aids, games, or books to help me teach Justice how to behave well, read, write, count, and add. It has been a fun, tiring, frustrating, rewarding, and learning experience. Here is the story of our journey so far.

CONSTRUCTION VEHICLES:
Between 1-3 years old, Justice showed great interest in construction vehicles and learned the technical names for many of them. For example: his favorite vehicle is a "Backhoe Loader".

DINOSAURS:
At the age of 2 1/2, Justice became interested in dinosaurs. He has learned many names and facts about dinosaurs. He likes: T-Rex (of course), Styracosaurus, Triceratops, Parasaurolophus, and Oviraptor.

LEGO:
At the age of 3 1/2, Justice was able to build Lego sets (with suggested age 7+) by himself. He loves Star Wars Lego (especially Battle Droids), Technic (building race cars and trucks), and making up his own designs for space ships, cars, and castles.
